US Tour 2006
How to Host a Linnea Good Concert (in the US)
Linnea Good is a singer-songwriter who has been called "the contemporary musical voice of the United Church of Canada". She is known as one of Canada's foremost performers of music of faith for all-age audiences.
On this tour, Linnea sings and plays acoustic piano while partner David Jonsson performs on drums and back-up vocals. They are a self-standing performance team, bringing a small sound system, drums (no piano), LCD projection and merchandise sales.
What you would need to host them in concert:
- an organizer to meet us on-site
- a stage area large enough for 2 musicians, a set of drums, 2 speakers and an amplifier
- a wall or screen for LCD projection
- an acoustic, in-tune piano (grand is grand, upright is fine)
- electric power outlets (minimal power draw)
- a long table in a public area for merchandise sales
- an area in which to change and leave gear safely
- meals for the team (the Jonsson-Good family) during our professional stay
- billeted accommodation
We require the following people-support:
- a person to run the LCD projection from our laptop
- a person to take responsibility for our music sales
- dedicated, competent, adult, full-time childcare for our 3 children, ages 9, 8 and 4, while we are on the job with you. We will pay an hourly rate for this service.
We charge:
- a minimum fee of $500 US for a tour concert, with further ticket revenue up to $750 to Borealis
- Proceeds above $750 are split between Borealis and the host 50/50%
- Travel costs are included in this fee.
Borealis Music is a very strong organization with a Business Administrator, Agents, Web-minder and associates. They would be pleased to work with you to plan and promote a concert in your community. Below is a downloadable promotions package available to hosts which has served organizers very well in our years of touring. We have an e-mail newsletter that keeps us in touch with Linnea's audience. Our web-site calendar can have a description and link to your event.
A Linnea Good concert is a unique and spiritually-renewing experience. As one new fan put it: "Before the concert began, I feared it would last too long. By the middle of the evening, I feared it would end."
