How to Host a Linnea Good Concert
Linea Good is a singer-songwriter has been called "the contemporary musical voice of the United Church of Canada". She is a rib-tickling children's performer, a comedic all-ages storyteller and a weaver of song and meaning.
Linnea performs in her trio with David Jonsson on drums and Bruce Harding on bass/guitar/flute. The trio is a self-standing performance team, bringing a full sound system suitable for a venue of 300-400 seats, very basic lighting set-up, and their Road Manager, Cheryl Harding, responsible for stage managing and merchandise sales.
We would need:
- an organiser to meet us on-site
- a stage area large enough for 3 musicians and small monitors
- an acoustic, in-tune piano (grand is grand, upright is fine)
- electric power outlets (minimal power draw)
- a long table in a public area for merchandise sales
- an area in which to change and leave gear safely
- billeted accommodation for the whole team (4 to 9 people)
We charge:
- a flat fee of $1150 Can +GST in Canada / $750 US for a tour concert. Concerts in other countries will be negotiated separately.
- a 50/50% split of proceeds above and beyond, in favour of the host
- SOCAN royalty fee of 3% of ticket revenue
- Travel costs are part of the flat fee when the concert is part of a full tour itinerary. Special, separate events and their travel costs are treated individually.
Borealis Music is a very strong organisation with a Business Administrator, Agents, Web-minder and associates. They would be pleased to work with a hosting group to plan and promote a concert in your community. We have a web-based promotions package available to hosts through our agents' web-site, which has served organisers very well in our years of touring. We have a post and e-mail newsletter that keeps us in touch with Linnea's audience. Our web-site calendar can have a description and link to your event.
A Linnea Good concert is a unique and spiritually-renewing experience. As one new fan put it: "Before the concert began, I feared it would last too long. By the middle of the evening, I feared it would end."
She can be reached through www.LinneaGood.com and her agents, Brenda Hardisty and Eric Harding, at agents at Linneagood.com
