Welcome from Linnea Good

Linnea Good has been a singer-songwriter, musical animator and educator in the Christian Church and community for 20 years. Her passion lies in creating music that helps souls to sing, that builds bridges between generations, that leads to the transformation of our world.

Linnea has a very full life – a young family, a touring schedule that takes her and drummer-spouse, David Jonsson, on the road much of the year, numerous CDs of her original music of faith, a new album Momentary Saints, an online subscription group of fast-breaking sheet music and worship resources, and a new project to create a Story Lectionary for worship leaders. She is available to join you and your community in worship, in concert or in a workshop setting.

Linnea Good – CD Launch: Momentary Saints
Linnea Good’s soaring celtic melodies and jazz-laced psalm-blues have taken her around the continent and world. Now (suddenly) celebrating her 20th anniversary in the singing business, Linnea and a deliciously expanded Good Company Band are launching her tenth album: Momentary Saints.

Linnea’s gift is in writing music that is at the once new and old. In Momentary Saints, Welsh hymns become love songs, Irish folk tunes sing laments of the faithful, global warming takes a jazz stride, a gospel story goes latin. She plays a powerful and evocative piano, accompanied by the tasty drumming of David Jonsson, and the locked-in groove of Bruce Harding’s bass. They are joined by some of Canada's finest studio musicians: David Sinclair, Michael Creber, Finn Manniche, Henry Lee, Mark Ferris, Terry Townson, Steve Hilliam, Rod Murray, Ed Johnson. With Paul Gitlitz’s Juno award-winning production skills, these songs of the spirit soar.

Included in the album: the free-flying gospel-feel Stand on the Rock, Rivers of Memory: Linnea’s powerful rendition of ‘by the rivers of Babylon’, accompanied by Bruce Harding’s heart-stopping flute choreography, Rain on Snow – accompanied by Terry Townson’s mournful flugel horn and David Golden’s now-famous comedic dig at church choirs: The Three Tenors.
